The frame of the F4 and Brutale is universally considered as the absolute technical benchmark in the motorcycle field. Designed to guarantee maximum access to all mechanical components and to give rock solid torsional rigidity, it is characterized by a mixed structure of chromium molybdenum steel tubes and swingarm support plates in aluminum or magnesium. Connected to these is the rear suspension’s rocker arm and the rear subframe which is made of aluminum tubes. Both the trestles for the frame and rear subframe are produced entirely by MV AGUSTA. The detail that most captures the imagination of the passionate is surely the sculpted single swingarm. A structure that for rational conception and visible impact has become the manifestation of creativity and expertise of CRC’s technical staff.
The dialogue between the frame and front suspension occurs, on F4S model, by means of a Showa upside down fork with legs which are 49mm in diameter. The Marzocchi fork with titanium nitride treatment and legs of 50mm in diameter takes the place of the Showa on Brutale Serie Oro, SPR and AGO models. Brutale S has the same equipment except for this treatment. The two more exclusive versions of the F4 also boast the Sachs Competition shock absorber with double regulation for compression.
All F4 models are equipped with a Ohlins steering damper placed transversally with respect to the direction of motion. This component is fixed to the frame on both extremities in order to function symmetrically. Particularly seductive are the steering plates; the upper has a prismatic diamond shape whilst the lower presents a bridge-like frontal view which improves the air flow to the radiator. This component may be made of aluminum or magnesium depending on the model / version and is enriched by the presence of the cast F4 logo.
The front brake system is comprised of two exclusive “Nissin F4” six piston calipers with differentiated diameters, and 310mm diameter disc brakes. On the AGO version, the exclusive and precious “Nissin Racing” single blocks have been introduced, along with the disc brake flanges in aluminum. All models in the F4 range have a four piston caliper at the rear and a 210mm diameter disc. The clutch and Nissin front brake commands boast the patent of the lowered position hydraulic fluid containers aimed at obtaining a complete visual of the instrumentation which includes a clock and, on SPR versions, of a stopwatch. All models in the 2003 range are characterized by a five spoke wheel design except for the AGO model, onto which new forged wheels produced by Marchesini have been introduced.
